Discussion
“Over the course of my life, I’ve had the opportunity to live across three different continents, work with people across sectors and backgrounds and dive deeply into the fields of psychology and politics. Out of all this messy, beautiful living, I’ve come to realize that we could all use more skill in the area of belonging — to better understand what it means, the impact of its absence, and how to create it for ourselves and each other.”
“All this thinking, living, experimenting and distilling resulted in my book, Breaking the Ocean: A Memoir of Race, Rebellion and Reconciliation. I’ve spent years pulling the curtain aside on my own life to introduce what I think is a unique perspective on racism, trauma and the revolutionary power of resilience. I hope you see yourself in its pages.”
