Discussion
Psychiatric medications such as antidepressants, benzodiazepines, lithium and antipsychotics are widely used but seldom explored. As a therapist, “Let the doctor handle it” sounds wise, but is it really? Or do we put clients at risk when we don’t understand basic harm reduction principles? This class is a crash course on psych medication essentials that you can bring directly into practice right away. Gain confidence, clarity, and new tools for working with these sometimes useful, sometimes dangerous substances. Therapists, people taking psych meds now in the past or future, students, professionals, community members, advocates, family, and people interested in Jung and Processwork are all invited.
The class is welcome to everyone, with an emphasis on people interested in Processwork. Based in Jungian psychology, Processwork approaches reality as a dream-like learning experience, where the wise omnipresence of nature constantly urges us to go beyond our ordinary understanding of ourselves and grow into something surprising and unique. Will teaches Processwork and Jungian psychology as both a devoted insider and as a critical outsider.
