Change happens when those who serve as agents of transformation understand the foundations of race and racism

LEARNING AREAS

Discussion

Change happens when those who serve as agents of transformation understand the foundations of race and racism. Racism was done and it can be undone through effective community, individual and institutional change.

This workshop is designed to challenge and empower people to “undo” the racist structures that hinder effective social change. It is based on the premise that racism has been systematically erected and that it can be “undone” if people understand where it comes from, how it functions and why it is perpetuated.

We will go through a facilitated process to dive deeper into the systemic nature of racism, internalised white supremacy, internalised oppression and the need for a systemic remedy that begins with individual and collective transformation.
