What supports well-meaning, open hearted white people, like me and you, to live according to our values and be constructive partners in racial dialogue? There are many answers, including clear understanding of the privileges of whiteness and the racial socialization that affects the way we think, feel, and interact.
Even when our thinking minds are on board, we white people often get defensive in tough racial conversations (or even normal conversations with People of Colour).
This experiential workshop is a chance to notice our visceral and emotional defensiveness, and to learn & try simple and powerful practices to help us move toward racial resilience. You will learn to stay grounded and present, to hold the experience and the full expression of People of Colour. These skills enable us to live our values and help create a more just and equitable world.
