We all hold trauma in our system around racism, no matter our racial group.

How Racism Impacts us All

This seminar is an opportunity to consider the dynamics of racism and trauma, and how they interlink. Thus creating barriers to growth and change. If we don’t recognize what is going on, and address the dynamic they create, our efforts won’t achieve the change or result we work towards.
No matter what racial group we come from, we all hold a level of trauma in our systems around issues of racism. Trauma can show up as increased vigilance, a background tension, subtle cues of aggression or feelings of not being safe. This impacts how we interact and react to others, without our awareness.
Racial trauma will impact how we show up and create actions to challenge racism. This seminar is an introduction to how racism and trauma interact, and how they impact our ability to be anti-racist.
